These Christmas cornflake wreath treats are one of the easiest treats to make during the holidays! Someone very special to me taught me how to make these and I have been making them every year since! Not only are they delicious, but they easy enough that the whole family can help make them together.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 5 Cups of Marshmallows
  • Green Food Coloring
  • 6 Cups Kellogg’s Cornflakes Cereal
  • Optional: Cinnamon Red Hot Candies (or other decorations of your choosing)

OTHER ITEMS YOU WILL NEED:

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Medium-Large Saucepan
  • Mixing Spoon or Rubber Spatula
  • Parchment Paper

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In your large mixing bowl, add your 6 cups of Kellogg’s Cornflakes Cereal and set aside.
  2. Melt your 1/2 cup of butter in a medium-large saucepan on low heat. When the butter has melted, add 5 cups of marshmallows and continue stirring until melted. Once the marshmallows are completely melted, add your food coloring. I usually just add 3-4 drops depending on the color I am going for. The amount of drops you choose is entirely up to you and your desired color!
  3. Pour the marshmallow mixture onto the cornflakes in your mixing bowl. Try to coat evenly when pouring. Mix the marshmallows and cereal until it is well coated.
  4. Lay out a piece of your parchment paper onto your counter or table.
  5. Coat your hands with a non-stick cooking spray or rinse them in a little water. Take a spoonful of your mixture and roll it into a ball. Flatten the ball on your parchment paper and form it into a “wreath” or “donut” shape. Continue until all your mixture has been formed into wreaths.
  6. Add 3 cinnamon red hots in a bunch to create a holly berry look, or decorate using your own decorations.

Tip: If you are making these for a party or as a gift, package them using the parchment paper to make sure they don’t stick together. Lay a piece of parchment paper between each layer of wreaths.
